changes: that's just the way it is.

the stake office called me and told me i'm officially reporting to the provo missionary training center instead of the sao paulo one. i expected this because due to my research/stalking of missionaries going to my mission, one's been in the provo mtc since the beginning of october and another one spent all of his time at the mtc instead of in sao paulo. good thing i waited to buy my clothes because now i'm packing more nylons and a winter jacket.

visas are difficult to obtain. even after four months of waiting and going through the visa process, i still won't have mine in time to fly directly to brazil. it's okay, though. i always envisioned myself at the provo mtc when i thought of my mission. i hope i go there and then transfer to the sao paulo one. it's not looking promising, though, peeps. the dude i found who spent his entire time in the provo mtc got temporarily reassigned to the georgia atlanta north mission, presumably until his visa comes. when i found that out, i started to worry about what would happen during my stay. will i get reassigned? what if i end up spending half or all of my mission somewhere else? i'll do it, of course, but i'm not a fan of major things like where i'm going to spend 18 months of my life away from my family changing. there's financial, mental, and cultural adjustments to be made, among other things.

i'll just roll with it, i guess. there's not much else to do, right? the call is what's important in the first place. as the words of the hymn say, "i'll go where you want me to go, dear lord, over mountain or plain or sea." he'll be watching over me, regardless of where i end up. i'm still doing his work...and what a glo-ho-horious work it is!
