surgified: update #2

ready for chapter two in the adventures of gimpnicia? here it go.

i stopped taking percocet on thursday, ibuprofen was not doing anything for the next few days, so now i'm not taking anything. my leg does not hurt horribly, but there are moments where i get stabs of pain or aches that make me uncomfortable for hours at a time. like last night...yuck.

i took my brace off on thursday, i think. not being able to really bend my left knee was driving me insane. i sleep so much better when i can bend my leg. i've gone to physical therapy four times, and each time it seems like another layer of my leg is taken off. i was down to the ace bandages this morning, which were the only thing separating my bandaged wounds from the world.

i started putting weight on my leg yesterday, and that was the best part of the last week and a half. i can hobble around without my crutches for a few minutes if i need to. i can bear weight even with the crutches, so i'm not killing my arms and walk faster. i wasn't told to do that, but the pain is gone when i bear weight on my leg, quite honestly.

i had a doctor's appointment this afternoon. my doctor said my leg looked great, and he gently urged me to wear the brace more often because the focus needs to be on straightening my leg. my bend is almost back to normal, but the straight leg needs conscious development. i guess i'll put the brace back on at some point tonight...and wear it around the house. for four more weeks (when my next appointment is).

i saw the karate kid this weekend. it. was. fabulous. for real, i could match up certain scenes with the original version with larusso. it was unique while paying homage to the original.

my sister bought just dance for wii. it brings families together.

babies can learn how to dance.

handicapped persons can have fun.

90-year-old grannies can shake it without breaking it.
